[b]Mahmoud El-Khatib (born 30 October 1954) popularly nicknamed Bibo, is a former Egyptian football player..Bibo" played for Al-Ahly (the African club of the century) between 1972-1988 and for the Egyptian National Team between 1974-1986 (scoring 27 goals). .
Mahmoud El Khatib, the name speaks for itself .. Is one of the most skilled, if not the most skilled football player, who defined playgrounds throughout Egyptian history...............
.[/b] [b]Bibo moved to Al-Ahly in 1971 and spent 16 years with The Club before he retired in 1988 due to injuries he suffered from constantly because he was too skillful to mark and so many defenders resorted to fouling him deliberately, a tactic that eventually took it's toll on the player. A funny instance of the Al-Ahly managerial staff trying to counter this problem, [/b][b]was when they let another player wear his number 10 shirt[/b]....
[b]Bibo Won the Egyptian League title eleven times, the Egyptian Cup six times, The African Cup Winner's Cup three times, and the African Champions League twice with his club Al-Ahly. He was also chosen best player in Egypt five times
One of Mahmoud El Khatib's greatest achievements was winning the Ballon D'Or (Golden Ball), the best individual award , for being the best football player in Africa in 1983
. El Khatib was selected to be a member of the International Committee for Fair Play after Playing 450 domestic and international games without being reprimanded once
Finally in 2007 Bibo was named the second best African Footballer in the last 50 years by the CAF[/b]...................
